This crochet cowl is currently EXCLUSIVE to the blog, so congrats on being here and finding it!
It is the result of an excited experiment with mini bean stitch. After joyfully mastering the technique on a plane ride over to the Alps, the design was born and made by the end of the second day of the trip. There’s your proof that it’s quick and satisfying to make – you’ll have to take my word that it’s snuggly and warm to wear!
Make it your own
While the pattern uses super chunky yarn, with a couple of easy adjustments you can make this scarf with any weight yarn. Just be sure to pick a fibre that’s soft and cosy to wear. Something that has any combination of cotton/wool/linen/alpaca would be ideal.Â
Those easy adjustments I mentioned? Simply build your starting chain to 140cm, ensuring you have an even number of chain stitches. Then follow the pattern, altering the number of mini bean stitches you complete in each row accordingly. Add or eliminate rows as needed to build your scarf to 13cm in height.Â
The design here has contrast rows to add pops of colour (mine may be gentle and muted, but yours needn’t be!). You could change colour at the end of each row for a striped scarf or not change colour at all for a chic understated number. It’s such a simple pattern, I heartily encourage you to get adventurous with making it your own.

The Crochet Stitches + Techniques You’ll Need
Some notes before you begin your crochet infinity scarf
- In the pattern table, the column on the right is the number of stitches each row should have. Where more than one row is listed together, each row has that same stitch count, it is not a cumulative total.
- The scarf is made in the round by slipstitching to join at the end of each row, then chaining one and turning. If you would prefer, you could skip the slst joins and instead work in long straight rows and stitch the two short sides together at the end.
- Turning chains and slip stitch joins are not included in the row counts.
- The pictured WAFFS was made using super chunky yarn and a 9mm hook.
- The finished scarf is 140cm x 13cm.
